Site rules
Revised 31 August 2026
These Rules govern what may be published on the omaplive platform, including the city map, company and venue pages, adverts, property, orders, service offers, reviews, events and any other material available to users.
By using omaplive and publishing on it, a user agrees to follow these Rules.
In short
The main omaplive rule is a simple one:
Publish true information that genuinely concerns you, your company, your advert or your own experience.
Do not publish other people's data without the right to, do not mislead readers, and do not use the platform for spam, fraud or anything unlawful.
The rest of these Rules set out in detail what that means.
1. General publishing rules
A user is responsible for the information they publish on omaplive.
Before publishing, make sure that:
- the information is true;
- you have the right to publish it;
- it belongs in the category you chose;
- the photographs and other material may lawfully be used;
- publication breaks neither the law nor these Rules;
- the contact details are yours, or are used with the owner's permission.
We may check, edit, limit the display of or remove material where there is reason to believe it breaks the Rules or may mislead readers.
2. What may not be published
Nothing may be published that breaks the law, the rights of others or the omaplive rules. In particular, this covers:
Companies and places that are not real
- venues or companies that do not exist;
- invented addresses;
- false points on the map;
- somebody else's company published as your own;
- details of a business the user has nothing to do with;
- contacts or a description of the trade known to be wrong.
Other people's personal data
Without lawful grounds or the owner's consent, you may not publish:
- somebody else's telephone number;
- private addresses;
- email addresses;
- the personal data of customers and visitors;
- anything else by which a private person can be identified.
This applies to reviews above all: do not publish the personal data of staff, customers or other visitors without their consent.
Unlawful goods and services
Offers of goods or services prohibited by the applicable law may not be published.
The user alone is responsible for the lawfulness of what they offer and of what they do.
Abusive and dangerous content
The platform does not allow:
- insults or the humiliation of others;
- threats;
- calls to violence;
- incitement of hatred or hostility;
- discriminatory content;
- sexual or explicit material;
- content that may harm other users;
- anything else that does not belong in a safe public space.
A simple rule: do not publish on omaplive what could not safely be shown in an ordinary public place.
Other people's photographs and material
When publishing photographs, images, logos, text and other material, a user must have the right to use it.
You may not publish:
- somebody else's photographs without the rights holder's permission;
- copyright material you have no right to use;
- images of people without the necessary grounds or consent;
- material that infringes the rights of third parties.
The user is responsible for the rights to what they publish.
Spam and artificial promotion
The following are not allowed:
- publishing the same advert over and over;
- creating duplicate company pages;
- inflating views, ratings or reviews;
- creating several accounts to manipulate a rating;
- advertising dressed up as an ordinary review;
- bulk advertising messages;
- automated publishing without the platform's permission.
3. Rules for company and venue listings
A company or physical site placed on the map must really exist and must have something to do with the address given.
The page must give true information about:
- the name of the company or venue;
- where it actually is;
- contact details;
- what it does;
- a description of the services;
- opening hours;
- anything else published.
A company page may not be used to advertise activity that has nothing to do with the place itself.
You may not, for example, create a page for a café purely to promote an unrelated legal, building or other service.
Moderation of companies
New pages, and some changes to them, may be reviewed before publication.
A moderator may check:
- whether the place exists;
- whether the address is real;
- whether the point on the map is right;
- whether the contacts are genuine;
- whether the description matches the chosen category;
- whether there are signs of spam or of misleading readers.
A review is not a guarantee of the quality of a company's service, nor confirmation of everything its owner claims.
4. Rules for reviews
Reviews are how people share their own opinion and experience. A few rules go with publishing one.
One account, one review
A user may leave one review of any one venue or company.
The limit keeps down repeat reviews and attempts to move a rating artificially.
Reviews are opinion
omaplive cannot always confirm that the author of a review was really a customer of the company.
So reviews are the personal opinion of users, not confirmation that a purchase, visit or service took place.
We suggest weighing several reviews and what else the page says, rather than deciding on one opinion alone.
What a review may not contain
Reviews may not contain:
- insults;
- threats;
- hateful statements;
- the personal data of third parties;
- claims known to be untrue;
- spam;
- advertising;
- links published purely to advertise;
- material that infringes the rights of others.
Who can remove a review
The author can remove their own review, through the functions their account offers.
The platform may hide or remove a review that breaks these Rules, or after a well-founded report has been considered.
5. Rules for property listings
A property advert must describe the property truthfully.
Whoever publishes it is responsible for:
- the accuracy of the description;
- the photographs matching the actual property;
- the price being right;
- the lawfulness of publishing the advert;
- the right to offer the property for sale or to let;
- the contact details being current.
Invented properties may not be advertised, other people's photographs may not be used without permission, and adverts may not be published purely to draw enquiries towards other properties or services.
If the property is no longer available, the advertiser must take the advert down or update it promptly.
6. Rules for orders and service offers
The orders section is for finding tradespeople, clients and specialists.
When posting an order or an offer, describe clearly:
- what needs doing, or what you are offering;
- the main terms;
- what matters about the job;
- how to get in touch;
- any other significant detail.
The section may not be used for:
- fraudulent offers;
- covert advertising;
- bulk spam;
- unlawful services;
- orders known to be fictitious;
- collecting personal data under the guise of an order;
- duplicating identical adverts.
Users decide for themselves whether to work with one another. omaplive is not a party to any agreement between a client and a tradesperson.
7. Rules for events
Organisers must give true information about an event.
It is worth stating:
- the name of the event;
- the date and time;
- the venue;
- the cost of taking part, or of tickets;
- a link to tickets, where there is one;
- a description of the event;
- current contact details for the organiser.
If an event is cancelled, moved or substantially changed, the information must be updated as soon as possible.
omaplive may remove an event where the information about it is untrue or breaks these Rules.
8. Reporting material
If a user believes that a company page, an advert, a review, a photograph or any other material breaks the Rules, they can report it.
In considering a report, account may be taken of:
- what was published;
- why it was reported;
- any further information supplied;
- whether the material meets the Rules;
- whether the rights of others may have been infringed.
Reporting something does not by itself mean it will be removed.
Every report is considered on its own.
9. What happens when the Rules are broken
Depending on what has happened, the platform may:
- ask for the information to be corrected;
- hide the material temporarily;
- remove the publication;
- limit certain functions of the account;
- refuse an application to be listed;
- remove duplicate material;
- limit a user's access to certain parts of the platform, temporarily or permanently.
The decision and the reason for it may be recorded in the moderation log.
Where breaches are repeated or serious, an account may be restricted without the option of publishing again in the section concerned.
10. If you disagree with a moderation decision
If you believe something was removed or restricted in error, you can write to support.
Describe what happened and, where it helps, send any further information.
Disputed decisions are read by a person. Where a decision can be revisited, the material or access to the function may be restored.

The main rule
We want omaplive to stay a clear and useful platform where real companies, services, housing, work, tradespeople and events can be found.
So before publishing, one simple rule is enough:
Publish what is true. Publish only what you have the right to. Respect other people, and do not try to mislead anybody.
Sticking to that is what makes the platform more useful and safer for everybody.
